The plan is to take the train out to Ardrossan from Glasgow and take the ferry across to Brodick. Then a quick lap of Aran, catch a ferry from Lochranza to Claoniag, nip across the Kintyre peninsula - ferry to Port Ellen. Visit as many distilleries on Islay as possible before the weekly ferry via the isle of Colonsay, to Oban.
